Job Summary:

ERCO’s Port Edwards Plant is looking for a Plant Services Technician to join its team! The primary responsibility of the Plant Services Technician is to prepare and load tank cars and tank trucks to meet DOT, AAR and ERCO standards. The employee will handle, label, and otherwise be responsible for the proper management of hazardous waste containers. Other duties may be assigned from time to time. This position will be able to meet deadlines and exercise a high degree of independent judgment regarding related items. Guidance will be provided on possible sources of information and methods to complete tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect railcars and tank trucks following procedures.
  • Perform light rail car maintenance working with common had tools and impact tools.
  • Prepare and load railcars and trucks as per schedule
  • Operate mobile equipment such as railcar mover, front-end loader and lift truck.
  • Perform work permits and locks in his sector.
  • Keep coworkers informed on matters relations to their day-to-day work
  • Train new employees on the job. Assist in writing procedure and developing training material

Key Attributes & Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of plant experience (industrial)
  • Experience in the chemical industry is an asset
  • Must be safety-oriented
  • Maintenance experience working with rail cars
