Job Summary:

ERCO Worldwide is looking for a motivated Electrochemist to join our Research and Development team on a full-time permanent basis! Reporting to the Manager of Research and Development, the Electrochemist will Provide expertise in areas of electrochemistry, process chemistry, electrochemical manufacturing processes and corrosion and materials selection. 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct R&D studies, participate in the chemical process investigations and support chemical plants and various departments
  • Plan and execute experiments using electrochemical bench and pilot plant equipment to conduct research and development of existing and novel technologies and chemical products. Visit electrochemical plants for the process troubleshooting.
  • Information management - Collecting, filing, and making scientific and technical information available as needed for business unit activities.
  • Overseeing calibration, maintenance, replacement, and expansion of laboratory electrochemical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Work on special projects as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years electrochemical experience, preferably in industrial environment or industrial R&D
  • M. Sc. minimum, in chemistry, chemical engineering, or material science/engineering with specialization in electrochemistry or electrochemical engineering
  • Recent PhD and MSc graduates are welcome to apply
  • Experience in electrochemical Research and Development, Corrosion science, corrosion testing
  • Familiarity with industrial electrolytic processes
  • Understanding of large-scale chemical manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in problem solving and creativity.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to travel within Canada and US
