POSITION SUMMARY: 

This role is responsible for planning and leading activities with a group of elementary, middle, and/or high school age children in a specialty area.  In some sites, this role may serve as support of grant-funded, outcomes-based program for high school youth to attend and graduate from high school and college.  This specialty is responsible for working with the academic and enrichment partners, directly providing enrichment activities (including a college readiness curriculum), plans college tours, builds relationships with students, school staff, and families, plans workshops for families, conducts home visits, and leads small student groups/discussions. At all sites, the programs are located in a public school and are part time positions.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, lead and/or assist in activities with groups of children as indicated on the program schedule, including participating in field trips

  • Care for and maintain program space, equipment and property used by the program participants.

  • Maintain health and safety standards within the program

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as called by the Site Director

  • Maintain a positive relationship with students, parents, and other staff members

  • Develop positive relationship with school leadership while maintaining focus on and meeting job expectations

  • Seek, develop and maintain relationships with partners that grow and sustain the program

  • Assist with and facilitate high school/college attainment program for high school students located in public school building (Depends upon grant program)

  • Other duties as assigned
