POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, the Senior Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center and supervision of the Executive Directors at other Centers.  This position provides Cause-Driven leadership in associate supervision, volunteer management, fiscal management, financial development, membership and program administration, facility & equipment stewardship, community relations and personal-professional development.  Responsible for leading a district represented by a $10+ million operating budget and over 10,000 household membership units.  The Senior Executive Director will also be responsible for the day to day operations of consumer-funded before/after school operations. He/she will lead strategic growth plans, associate development, regulatory & accreditation compliance, long-range strategy, and program development. The Senior Executive Director works in collaboration with schools, communities internal Y stakeholders while demonstrating Y core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all the following key result areas:

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

        

  • Development and supervision of the Centers’ operations and oversight of the other Centers in the Region
  • Implements Association membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members 
  • Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions 
  • Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction
  • Develops long range plans with a DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) lens for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall Y objectives. Monitors the achievements of these objectives and exercises appropriate action to assure the achievements of the objectives are of the highest quality programs and services. 
  • Actively engaged in the development, implementation and usage of initiatives related to DEI specific to the center and surrounding community
  • Provides leadership to the Community Leadership Board and related committees
  • Provides leadership and is accountable for achieving annual support (Annual Giving) campaign and special events
  • Represents and promotes the Y in the local community by developing positive working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and lead employees and volunteers in coordination with Association Human Resource Department. Review and evaluate staff performance.  Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Responsible for supervision of all Associates
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness and function of all related facilities and equipment
  • Ensure all program operations are consistent with association procedures, including emergency, insurance, accident, purchasing, personnel, accounting and other administrative systems
  • Develops, manages, and monitors center-operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Initiates and manages adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Vice President and Associate Executive Director he/she will be responsible for developing short and long term plans that support Before and After School regions and overall association goals and ensure the growth, quality, and service delivery.
  • In- directly supervise, develop and evaluate program directors within multiple regions.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors to pursue and develop new vehicles for growth.
  • Lead by example; interact with a high level of professionalism and accountability.
  • Attend Associate meetings, trainings, and association required events corporate character development within the activities of the Y
  • Assist in all areas, project teams, and duties as assigned by supervisor
