The Supervisor reports to the Director of Packaging Operations and is required to have experience in manufacturing or packaging environments. This position is in a fast-paced environment and requires the ability to solve problems and strives to constantly to increase efficiencies in a safe manner without compromising quality. Supports, encourages, and complies with all company policies and procedures and ensures the team follows safe practices, produces high quality product and SOPs and GMPs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors, inspects, and audits plant production metrics to ensure alignment with the production schedule.
  • Checks the logbooks to ensure they are completed accurately and on-time by the associate.
  • Communicates the long-term vision, sets the daily morale of the team and leads by example
  • Maintains the flow of processes and makes suggestions for efficiency within the organization
  • Monitors all equipment and ensures timely repairs
  • Advises, trains, and instructs associates in all aspects of work and in the safe operation of the equipment and machinery necessary for their position
  • Assigns tasks and schedules priorities to achieve the greatest production with the best efficiency
  • Facilitates communication with vendors, associates, and managers for successful collaboration and accountability
  • Manage the performance of direct reports through performance reviews, frequent discussions, coaching, and career development action plans
  • Follows up on troubleshooting problems.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and  on the job training
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment (required)
  • Be organized, able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Possess knowledge and experience of supervisory practices and principles for 3 + years
  • Have experience with FDA and GMP regulated industries
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and embrace change while proactively making sound decisions.
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  •  Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish).
  • Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours is this something you would be comfortable with
