Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a part-time pharmacist to join our Kamsack I.D.A location in Kamsack Saskatchewan. A traditional style retail pharmacy that is always fully stocked and busy with shoppers. This store has a large harm reduction focus and the staff here are passionate about filling the gap in healthcare seen by the less fortunate. At Kamsack IDA you will work closely with local doctors and addiction facility staff and have plenty of opportunity for minor ailment prescribing and clinical services. This store has Methameasure automation allowing pharmacists more time to focus on patients. Generally a 1-1.5 pharmacist location with 3 pharmacy assistants, one of which is currently studying to become a registered technician.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:
The Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy and actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement. The Pharmacist will play a key role in achieving departmental excellence in the areas of patient focused care, customer service and workflow efficiencies.

  • Focus on clinical services (i.e., medication reviews, disease state management)
  • Initiate care plans, follow up and document
  • Administer vaccines
  • Determine appropriateness of drug therapy
  • Monitor medication adherence
  • Collect and document relevant patient, drug, and disease information
  • Recommend OTC products and vitamins
  • Answer questions from patients that require therapeutic knowledge, clinical analysis, or assessment
  • Supervise a pharmacy student or a provisional pharmacist in the performance of restricted activities
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in Kroll
  • Experience working in a retail environment
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
