Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions. 

Job Summary
Accountant responsibilities include reconciling general ledger account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger, creating purchase orders, entering accounts payable invoices, process accounts payable invoices for payment, and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. 

 

Essential Duties and Other Responsibilities

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Create purchase orders as requested
  • Enter accounts payable invoices and process for payment.
  • Send remittance advices for accounts payable invoices paid
  • Reconcile statements received from vendors to invoices received
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, complete accounts payable, etc. as assigned
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare payable accrual entries
  • Record and maintain fixed assets
  • Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue schedules
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and reconcile prepaid expense schedules
  • Record and reconcile inventory related entries. Inventory experience is required.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
  • Assist with other accounting projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of the accounts payable process, including internal controls
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with inventory related transactions.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, (Microsoft Dynamics NAV)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant

Education/Experience

BS in Accounting or Finance, and related clinical trial industry experience and/or training is desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must possess excellence in organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills.Significant experience working with accounts payable, month end close processes, external auditors, internal controls and compliance related issues.

 

 

Language Ability

Must possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is needed.  The ability to effectively present information and responds to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public is also necessary.

 

Math Ability

The ability to apply advanced concepts of accounting is required.

 

Reasoning Ability

Handles detailed, complex concepts and problems, balances multiple tasks simultaneously, and makes rapid decisions regarding administrative and executive issues. Must display excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills

 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications,word processing software, spreadsheet software, accounting software and database software.

 

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
