Kodak Alaris Colorado is the home of Kodak Moments Thermal Media Manufacturing and the Windsor Regional Distribution Center. The operations are responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of thermal media for photographic applications.

Job Title: Printing Operator

Functional Unit: Thermal Media Manufacturing – Colorado

Reports to: Technical & Operations Manager

 

The Kodak Moments Colorado Thermal Donor Printing operation is a 24 hours-a-day / 4 days-per-week manufacturing facility. The operation is located in Windsor, Colorado and employs more than 100 people. Production was launched in 1992, with significant capital investments completed in 2005 to create additional capacity. The site manufactures thermal media for the Kodak Moments Business Unit and its worldwide customers. Key products include thermal media for the 100,000+ Picture Maker Kiosks located worldwide and the Advanced Photo Exchange (APEX) behind the counter wet chemistry replacement systems.

 

Job Summary:
The Printing Operator will support the Thermal Media Manufacturing business in a variety of areas including chemical mixing, gravure printing, and quality control. This role will work under the immediate direction of a senior Team Leader who will guide day-to-day responsibilities and directly report to the Technical and Operations Manager for the area.

Essential Functions:

  • Process start-ups, changeovers, and shutdowns
  • Real-time monitoring and control of the printing and batching operations
  • Recognize, troubleshoot, and resolving quality defects
  • Monitor machine indicators and process information, recognize and respond to process alarms, adjust manufacturing set points, identify abnormalities, and respond with appropriate action(s).
  • Collect routine quality control samples
  • Complete daily efficiency reports and perform raw material consumption transactions via business planning software
  • Read and comprehend standard operating procedures
  • Follow Corrective Action Guidelines (CAG’s); communicate observations to Maintenance and Technical staff during troubleshooting
  • Identify, retrieve, transport, load, and unload correct raw materials; operate motorized riding and hand-driven trucks
  • Follow standard startup/shutdown procedures to activate/deactivate equipment on a weekly basis
  • perform routine cleaning of equipment on a weekly basis
  • Maintain hazardous waste containers
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Two (+) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Gravure Operator Certificate a plus
  • Troubleshooting experience highly desired
  • Basic mechanics and tool usage
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing knowledge a plus
  • Familiar with OSHA standards

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at times
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Constant Visual Attention
  • Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment during specific tasks
  • Ability to follow safety protocols for handling hazardous chemicals

 

Hours:

  • 12 hour rotating A/B schedule
    • Week A: M/T/W/R:  6:45 AM - 7:00 PM (days)
    • Week B: M/T/W:  6:45 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)

 

 

 

 

Compensation:

$19.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience
