Your daily life:

 

As an important team resource, the incumbent participates in the mechanical design of probes, instruments and scanners using several non-destructive inspection modalities based on eddy current physics and ultrasound.

 

In this role you will:

  • Work in partnership with application engineers in the development of custom NDT inspection solutions and develop the mechanics of these solutions:
    • 3D design on Solidworks
    • Drawing of parts for manufacturing
    • Assembly drawing
    • Prototyping
    • Testing and qualification
  • Apply DFM (Design For Manufacturing) principles in its design.
  • Follow-up with the production team and update our manufacturing and assembly drawings based on feedback.
  • Under limited supervision, participate in the design of new probes, modifications, testing and realization of industrial eddy current systems.
  • Integrate industrial design concepts into Eddyfi products to optimize design quality, manufacturing processes, cost & customer functionality.
  • Provide specialist judgement & analysis in the design, development & implementation of new application solutions.
  • Support the sales team in the submission of products tailored to specific customer requirements.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 2 to 5 years' relevant experience
  • Experience in miniature equipment design (micro-machining) an asset
  • Knowledge of Solidworks and PDM drawing software
  • Knowledge of SolidEdge drawing software an asset
  • Knowledge of machining methods (digital)
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational skills with limited direction
  • Structured development approach
  • Excellent knowledge of dimensional and geometric tolerancing
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Functional English
