Volunteer - Photographer
The Gianna Centre, a pregnancy support center, is currently recruiting two volunteer professional photographers who will provide a maternity, family, and baby photoshoot for mothers and their immediate family, as a reward for participating in Gianna Centre programming.
We are looking for someone who has the following skills:
- Experience taking professional quality photos of people
- Some photo editing abilities an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Pro-life stance on unplanned pregnancy
- Willingness to act in congruence to Catholic social teachings
- Ability to work as a member of a team, and independently when required
- Mature self-starter, self-confident, and a healthy mental/emotional state
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Strong personal boundaries and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of the program, the clients served, and the related social issues
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take professional quality photos of moms and their babies/families, either during or after pregnancy
- Edit and compile photos taken for a client, and work with Gianna Centre staff to ensure that client has access to them
- Take professional quality photos at annual Gianna Centre events, such as the Client Christmas Party, or other events throughout the year
- Ensure clients sign applicable consent for photography. Documents will be provided by CSS
- To establish and maintain positive relationships with the clients and staff of the Gianna Centre
- Use the Agency online volunteer platform (Volunteer Hub) for registration and to report volunteer hours in a timely manner
- Report immediately any match concerns, problems, and/or needs to your Volunteer Supervisor
- Adhere to the Agency’s Volunteer Agreement and program policy in a positive and cooperative manner
- Represent the Agency in a professional and ethical manner at all times while volunteering
Location: Gianna Centre Office in Edmonton
Time Commitment: 4-6 hours per week/flexible (Long-term)
