Responsibilities:

  • Be the Face of Allen County: As a Permit Specialist, you'll be the first point of contact for many residents and businesses. You'll issue building permits and licenses with a smile, providing friendly and helpful assistance every step of the way.
  • Master of Multitasking: From handling incoming calls to processing permit renewals and managing paperwork, you'll juggle multiple tasks with ease and efficiency.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy is key in this role. You'll meticulously calculate and collect fees, ensuring that everything is in order before permits are issued.
  • Stay Ahead of the Game: Keep an eye on state releases for commercial projects, staying informed and prepared to assist as needed.
  • Team Player Mentality: As part of our tight-knit team, you'll pitch in wherever needed, whether it's sorting mail or assisting colleagues with various tasks.

Requirements:

  • Customer Service Superstar: We're looking for someone with at least one year of experience in a customer-facing role, where providing exceptional service was second nature.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with computers? Check! Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software? Even better!
  • Can-Do Attitude: No task is too big or too small for you. You approach every challenge with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
  • Good with Numbers: While you don't need to be a math whiz, basic bookkeeping skills and the ability to calculate fees accurately are a must.
  • People Person: You enjoy interacting with a diverse range of individuals, from county employees to contractors to members of the public.
