Pre-College and Summer Programs Instructor 2024-2025

Albright College, a liberal arts college in Reading, PA, is seeking Instructors for Pre-College and Summer Programs. The Pre-College and Summer Program division provides learners with focused educational experiences in a cutting-edge academic environment. Learners will be exposed to a wide variety of disciplines through research curricula, career/research presentations by experts, and mentored independent research experiences. Instructors for Pre-College and Summer Programs provide students of all ages with the opportunity to expand their academic skills base and develop research projects or ideas. Instructors will serve as teachers, mentors, and facilitators of Pre-College and Summer programs to include students of all ages from PreK to adult in Total Experience Learning® environments.

Essential Job Functions:

Pre-College and Summer Program Instructors are critical members of the Pre-College and Summer Program team and will be responsible for a variety of tasks and duties. Most importantly, instructors will be asked to provide an exciting, challenging, and rewarding experience for all students. Programs may be offered remotely or in-person according to College Policy. All Pre-College and Summer Program (PCSP) instructors will:

1. Attend introduction and training sessions as necessary that will introduce Total Experience Learning® methods and/or PCSP goals, logistics, and scheduling.
2. Supervise and mentor college student interns to assist with various Pre-College and Summer Programs.
3. Aid students of all ages in preparation for personalized applications of the Total Experience Learning® methodology and/or PCSP initiatives and/or professional development goals.
4. Plan and deliver Total Experience Learning® seminars to aid students of all ages in discovering their passions during PCSP initiatives and/or professional development.
5. Participate in PCSP meetings as needed to discuss implementation and/or feedback on various programming.
6. Other duties as assigned in PCSP initiatives.

Working Conditions and Payment

Pre-College and Summer Program Instructors will be responsible for all duties described above during programming coordinated by the Pre-College and Summer Programs department. Part-time hours will be scheduled according to instructor availability and need. Instructors will have the opportunity to “opt-in” to various programs when instructors are required. Instructors will not be scheduled without prior consent. Instructors will receive payment hourly based on hours scheduled for teaching in Pre-College and Summer Programs.

6. EDUCATION and REQUIREMENTS
   1. Minimum Bachelor's degree, or related Industry experience
   2. Preferred current PA teacher certification or Guest/Substitute Teacher eligibility through a PA substitute service
   3. Preferred certificate in Total Experience Learning® methodology
