Role overview:

We're looking for a talented and experienced Human Resources Assistant to join our HR team. This is a busy and varied role; responsible for providing advice, support and administration to ensure the HR function provides a great service to our stakeholders in a fast-paced, ever changing, environment.

You will be responsible for the production of all HR-related documentation across the employee lifecycle and for updating and maintaining the HR system ensuring that all employee data is accurately recorded and maintained.

To be successful in this role you will require a high degree of flexibility, initiative, and organisation skills to successfully meet the requirements of internal and external customers in a timely manner.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide effective administration for all areas of the employee lifecycle such as new starters, leavers, changes to terms and conditions, administration of company benefits and basic reporting.
  • Ensure the HR system and employee files are accurate and maintained.
  • Manage the HR Inbox daily, responding to all first and second line HR queries and take accountability for resolving queries relating to the full employee lifecycle
  • Manage benefits administration through our online portal.
  • Issue contracts of employment for new hires, process new starter paperwork, manage the on-boarding process including meeting new joiners on their first day and processing of references and right to work documents and checks.
  • Support managers in employee relations meetings including sickness absence, flexible working, family leave entitlements, grievances, disciplinary and performance improvement.
  • Offboarding employee including calculating outstanding holiday, resignation receipt letters and exit interviews.
  • Support in the collation, analysis and presentation of data for HR reporting.
  • Assist with organising training and development programs for employees by scheduling training sessions, tracking attendance, and preparing training materials.
  • Suggest improvements to HR processes ensuring we are fit for the future.
  • Ad-hoc HR project work as required.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position, demonstrating knowledge of HR processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and prioritise your own workload to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in delivery
  • Knowledge and experience of using HRIS systems and proficiency in data entry; previous experience of Dayforce HR software would be advantageous
  • Proven experience of handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to include mail merge, pivot tables and formulas
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with HR colleagues and key stakeholders
  • Passionate about providing proactive support and excellent service to the business
  • Proactive self-starter who uses initiative, who can anticipate issues and takes ownership for developing practical solutions in a collaborative manner.
  • Flexible in your approach to working depending on the needs of the business.
  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent desirable
