Systems Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
• Analyzes complex information, and independently takes appropriate actions to resolve problems
• Delivers briefings on complex topics to groups, which may include high-level decision-makers
• Works complex research projects as senior contributors and as part of an integrated research team
• Designs and delivers solutions
• Oversee the constant availability of technical resources.
• Advise on suitable hardware and software to meet company needs.
• Performs requirements analysis for systems missions and environments to identify functional definitions and design for system hardware and software
• Evaluate the existing systems and provide the technical direction to IT support staff.
• Analyzes user’s requirements, develops concept of operations documents, high level system architectures, and system requirements specifications
• Mentoring IT support staff to deliver business goals
• Project Management

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a System Engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of experience in addition to the above requirement
• Experience in implementing ITIL
• Extensive understanding of the protocols and technologies including, but not limited to: TCP/IP, SIP, MPLS, LDAP, DHCP, & DNS.
• Extensive understanding of security concepts including, but not limited to: IDS/IPS, Antivirus, Web-filtering, SSL encrypt/decrypt, two-factor authentication, SSL, and VPN
• Experience with VMWare Network Virtualization
• Real-world network and Data Center Network Operations experience
• Outstanding ability to perform logical problem-solving in high-pressure situations
• General knowledge of various Linux operating systems
• Organizes work to ensure tasking, projects, and assignments are completed according to deadlines
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid understanding of change management concepts and practices
• Experience with Azure IaaS/PaaS
• Azure or VMWare Certification
• Experience with Fortinet / Merak
