POSITION SUMMARY — Plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. At the same time, develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all other departments in order to meet production goals.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  
WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
 
  
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods such as inspectors, machine setters, and fabricators
  • Confer with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and shifts
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
  • Conduct employee training in work or equipment operations and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers
  • Track attendance and hours worked
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirement and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Maintain operations data including production and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results
  • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or issues
  • Set up and adjust machines and equipment
  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency
  • Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hires, evaluations, and promotions
  • Calculate labor and equipment requirements and production specifications, using standard formulas
  • Plan and develop new production processes
  • Ensure production is meeting quality standards
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
  • Maintain and support the environmental policy with deployment, governance of the policy and processes, evaluation and taking action for process improvement
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery 
  • Proficient computer skills 
  • Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills 
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles, budgeting, resources allocation, human resources
  • Self-motivated with a results driven approach

 
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred; Associate’s Degree would be an advantage
Experience: Two to four years of manufacturing/management experience
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient with MS Office and MRP systems
Certificates & Licenses: 
Other Requirements: Willing and able to work a flexible schedule
