POSITION SUMMARY – Provide supervision to Automation support department, including assigning work, performance management, and developing the team. At the same time, develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all other departments in order to meet production goals. WORK ENVIRONMENT —Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.


 


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations

  • Ensure that company and department policies are followed

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the support of automated equipment

  • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or issues

  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency

  • Oversee Automation preventive maintenance program and spare part inventories

  • Jointly, with production, be responsible for planning preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and project work related to automated equipment

  • Provide support to Automation Manager to improve automation processes and reduce production downtime

  • Ensure proper training of all assigned employees and schedule appropriate actions with training coordinator

  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers

  • Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings


 


SKILLS & ABILITIES



  • Proven knowledge of industrial controls systems including robotics

  • Ability to program Rockwell/AB PLC programs in RS Logix 500/5000

  • Ability to develop and configure Rockwell/ AB HMI systems

  • Experience using various types of manufacturing machinery

  • Self-motivated with a result driven approach

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to organize

  • Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles, budgeting, resources allocation, and human resources


 


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS



Education: Associate's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Robotics technology preferred


Experience: Five or more years of hands on technician experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; Experience with electrical systems preferred


Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using Microsoft Office
